Along with my wife, Marsha, I have lived in central Arkansas since 2021. I am a native of Winnfield, Louisiana, and Marsha is a native of Warren, Arkansas. Following graduation from the LSU law school, I returned home and entered private practice. From 1977 until 1984, I also served as an Assistant District Attorney, and in 1984 was elected as a state District Judge.
In 1995, while serving as judge, God called me to pastoral ministry and I began his seminary training and serving in bi-vocational pastoral ministry while serving as a judge. Over time I earned the Master of Divinity degree and the Doctor of Ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. After having served five years as a bi-vocational pastor in Louisiana, God called me to full-time ministry, and I resigned from the judgeship in 2000. In the years that followed God’s plans took us to service in churches in Montana, Louisiana, Colorado, Texas, and now Arkansas.
We are blessed with three children: Rebecca, a teacher in Missouri, married to Jeremy, with grandson, Todd: Matthew, employed in Bossier City, Louisiana, married to Jennifer, with grandchildren, Edie, Bryn, Kate, and Rhett; and Peter, a pastor in Shelbyville, Tennessee, married to Sarah, with granddaughters, Charis, Ruth, and Ellie.
