Curt Hamlin - Minister of Music & Education |
Curt came to FBC Dumas in May of 2010 after serving churches from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to Houston, from the Piney Woods to West Texas. He is proud to make Dumas his home and enjoys the great musicianship and desire for worship found within this congregation. Family: Curt is a widower and has three children and seven grandchildren Place of Birth: Dallas, Texas Education: Duncanville High School, 1970; University of Texas Permian Basin, BA 1982; Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Religious Education, 1987-1990; Liberty University, Marriage and Family Counseling, 1992-1993 Favorite Scripture: For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declared the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.’ Jeremiah 29: 11-13 Philosophy of Music Ministry: Music is given to us by God to use to worship Him. Thus, the music ministry of a church is essential to worship. It must be varied enough to reach all people in the church and meet their needs, whether in participation through singing, playing an instrument, or listening as others share their God-given talents. |

Zane Powers - Student Minister |
FBC Dumas has been such an incredible blessing for not only me, but my family as well. Since we came in March 2003, the church has wrapped their arms around us, and taken us in with love. As the Student Minster, I seek to show that same love to the students who walk in the doors at FBC Dumas. Do not miss out on the opportunities God is presenting through the student ministry! Family: Ronni (wife), Pierce Michael (son, 6 years old), Peyton Miles (son, 5 years old), Paige Mackenzie (daughter, newborn) Place of Birth: Plainview, Texas Education: Pampa High School, 1999; Wayland Baptist University, BA 2002 Favorite Scripture: And so dear brothers, and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind He will accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is. Romans 12:1-2 (New Living Translation) Hobbies: Watching sports, hanging out with the youth, being a radio personality for Dumas and Sunray sports on KDDD! I am alos a season ticket holder for Texas Tech football! GUNS UP!!!!

Kim Palser - Financial/Youth Assistant |
Kim has had the ability to count money at an early age. But if you were to ask her is she ever thought that being responsible for church budget accounts was in her future she would probably have replied that it would be only if God was involved and making it possible. God has made it possible and since April 17, 2000, she has been the financial secretary for FBC Dumas. What is most surprising to those that know her well, she does all the accounting for expenditures and deposits on a regular basis while keeping her shoes on her feet! Seriously, Kim is another asset to the FBC Dumas office and is always willing to help a church member or visitor any day of the week or time of the day. Family: Scott (husband and webmaster of FBC Dumas), 2 children - Drew (23) and Alyssa (21) Place of Birth: Fredericktown, Missouri Education: Dumas High School 1985, Amarillo College Real Estate Favorite Scripture: “As My glorious presence passes by, I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed. Then I will remove My hand, and you will see Me from behind. But My face will not be seen.” Exodus 33:22-23(NIV) Consider it pure joy, My brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. James 1:2-3(NIV) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galations 6:9 (NIV) For it is by grace we are saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9(NIV) Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:3B-4 (NIV) Hobbies: Attending Drew and Alyssa’s activities in Plainview and spending time with them, studying the Bible, working out, sponsoring youth events at FBC, shopping, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends including the Thursday night dinner crew and Bible study time. |
